The NFA is still federal law, and Virginia law follows it. Under Virginia Code § 18.2-300, owning a short-barreled rifle or shotgun is a felony unless it is legal under federal law. For an SBR or SBS, that means an approved NFA form.
No approved Form 4, no SBR or SBS. We will not transfer one without it.

Can I buy a suppressor with just a 4473 instead of a Form 4?
Yes. For GOA members and Silencer Shop purchases. A completed 4473 and NICS check are still required, same as any firearm.
What does a suppressor transfer cost?
$25 for a 4473-only transfer, our standard transfer fee. $50 for an NFA Form 4 transfer.

Do you engrave NFA items?
Yes. NFA engraving for SBRs, SBSs and AOWs is $50 with a copy of your approved Form 1. Suppressor engraving is $75 for manufacturer info, serial and caliber.
Do you serialize 80% lowers?
Yes. Virginia HB 40 serialization requirements are unchanged. We engrave and record 80% lower builds, Polymer80s and 3D-printed firearms. See our HB 40 serialization page.
